Antique Cast Iron and Bronze Lions Finials, 1890s, Set of 2

A great pair of Antique cast iron lions holding a bronze shield/parchment scroll ca 1920 – possibly earlier.
Very rare, charming and very decorative.
These objects come from an old country house where they served as finials on a gate.
(In each lion there is a round opening in the base, probably this served for fastening)

In good antique condition, the bronze has old patina.
