Vintage Design
Original painted bridal cupboard made of pine dating from around 1800/1825. This cupboard has a simple design but is beautifully painted with religious and floral decorations. The original paint is quite worn, which gives the whole a very characteristic appearance. This specimen is still in good condition considering its age, although some old woodworm traces can be seen sporadically, which have obviously been treated. The cupboard has a shelf and a rod on the inside. If desired, more shelves can easily be added. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This copy comes from southern Germany (Upper Bavaria). On the inside there are various inscriptions legible from the previous owners, including the years 1821 and 1845. 182cm high, 120cm wide, 57cm deep.
