Leather Pig Ottoman in the style of Dimitri Omersa, 1970s

Vintage Design

They are still being made, this one will have been made around 1970. This ottoman in the shape of a pig was first produced around 1930 in England by “Old Bill” (who already made leather travel bags for Liberty) in London for Liberty, which it still sells. At the end of the 1950s, this work was taken over by Dimitri Omersa (who had come to England from Yugoslavia at the time). Trade name “Omersa”. Omersa introduced new animals, such as an elephant and a donkey. from the mid-1960s to the late 1980s, the leather footstools were also sold by Ambercrombie & Fitch in America. Today they are marketed in America by Scully & Scully.

This copy dates from around the 1970s. In beautiful vintage condition.
