Space Age -style dressing table, DBM firm, lacquered wood and fiberglass, 70’s – Italy

Spectacular dressing table designed by the Italian DBM house, following the aesthetic canons of the Space Age construction site. Large -dimensional piece, made of broken white lacquered wood and formed by a horizontal base designed for storage with two drawers on each side and a fiberglass cover Effect Black marble effect with gray veins and a large circular mirror in the upper part . The base of the base is illuminated with a futuristic effect, even below, towards the feet of the furniture.

The white color is closely linked to the OP Art, also closely related to the Space Age. On one of the sides is the manufacturer’s plate. It is a very sophisticated and glamorous piece, common in the works of this style, with a clear scenic component.

Aerospace engineers influenced design and architecture through the adaptability of the materials they created for flight. This aesthetic had influence in all design fields: architecture, industrial products, interior, clothing, graphics, textiles, etc … and also in great designers.

DBM Italy

DBM is an Italian Tuscan company dedicated to the production of furniture in operation since the early twentieth century.
