Late 20th Century Judith Leiber Large Black Ostrich Leather Handbag With Gold Studs

This fabulous Judith Leiber black ostrich handbag is both uncharacteristically large and a little edgy as compared to Leiber’s other designs. The body of the handbag measures 11.5″ tall x 14.5″ wide x 4.5″ deep with double handles that measure 29.5″ from end to end providing for a 13.75″ drop. It is almost large enough for an overnighter but definitely a statement size guaranteed to turn heads. The frame of the bag is detailed in gold tone metal with studs accenting the top rim. The onyx embellished push button and tab pull work well and ensure that your valuables are safely tucked inside. The interior is lined in black faille fabric with one zippered compartment and a side pocket. The original change purse, gold tone compact mirror and tasseled comb are included though the original dust bag is missing in action. It is a timeless classic that will pair well with everything from evening attire to casual wear.

The handbag is in beautiful condition though there is an abrasion to the leather at the back left side approximately 2″ up from the base. It looks to have been caused by something adhesive such as tape…please see photograph 11 for a closer look. The original dust bag is missing in action but an extra large Salvatore Ferragamo bag from the same estate will be included to keep this beauty safe.
