Charles Catteau (1880-1966) Franco-Belgian ceramist
A creator who worked in 1906 for the Keramis manufacturers at Boch Frères at La Louvière, in Belgium, and whose infinitely varied production is sought after by amateurs as well as professionals. His work illustrates his double palette, on the one hand of colorful earthenware, richly enamelled, rather retro, on the other, elegant sober sandstones with abstract patterns.
This vase is exceptional due to its size, it is signed by Charles Catteau and kept the boutique label which sold it.
