Vintage Design
First series model attributed to Josef Hoffman and Josef Frank for Thonet, 1927. Beech bentwood frame with hand woven caned seat and back featuring straight front legs with cast iron brackets. Full label and Thonet stamp.
Original cane in very good to excellent condition, firm and fully functional. No woodworm. Minimum restoration work. Frame, brackets and cane carefully cleaned, not dismantled. Original shellac surface renewed to its original beauty. No re-staining applied. Restored to show off its age and patina. Chair is firm and straight.
Please note that seat height is only 41 cm and originally there was a cushion to improve seating experience and protect cane from damage.
